Setting the standards for mentoring, coaching and supervision

Find out all you need to know about the highest industry standards for practitioners and training programmes in Coaching, Mentoring, and Supervision.

The European Individual Accreditation (EIA) is an internationally recognised accreditation that demonstrates that an individual practising as a professional mentor/coach has the appropriate level of knowledge and the ability to apply it effectively in their practice.

Please note that the Recognition of Prior Accredited Learning within the EIA application process does enable an individual with previous accredited learning i.e. an approved qualification in mentoring and/or coaching (other than EMCC) to align their qualification/s to EMCC’s European Quality Award (EQA) Assessment Framework and thereby be exempt from producing additional evidence of their competence when applying for their EIA accreditation.

The European Quality Award (EQA) is an internationally recognised accreditation for providers of mentoring/coaching training to make their qualifications/training widely and immediately recognisable. This is done through linking them to professional standards. It is an integral and essential step on the path to establishing the professional credibility and status of mentoring/coaching.

EMCC has a framework for assessment based on extensive consultation and the most comprehensive competence research of mentoring/coaching produced to date. The emphasis of this accreditation is to raise standards whilst acknowledging existing excellence.
